Paul LeSage
Paul LeSage has recently retired as Assistant Chief at Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, which serves over 430,000 people in the Portland Metro region (www.tvfr.com). He has over 29 years of experience as a Firefighter and Flight Paramedic. He is on faculty at Oregon Health Sciences University as a Clinical Assistant Professor, and lectures nationally in the emerging fields of Deployment, Critical Decision-Making, and High Reliability. Paul has authored several Fire and EMS Field Guides, and continues to apply non-traditional techniques to public entity business practices, QI, and error analysis.

Dr. James T. Reese
Dr. James T. Reese, Ph.D., is an internationally known author, lecturer and consultant in the specialty areas of stress management, ethics-based leadership, personality profiling and motivation. Dr. Reese is a Board Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress. He has addressed the National Executive Institute for more than two decades, and has been faculty of the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, the Institute for the Advanced Study of Crisis and Disaster Management and the prestigious FBI Academy. Dr. Reese has addressed thousands of firefighters, law enforcement, athletes, and corporate entities. Dr. Reese has addressed representatives of more than 350 Fortune 500 Companies; from rank-and-file employees to CEOs. An original FBI criminal profiler (Silence of the Lambs), he retired as Assistant Unit Chief of the FBI Behavioral Science Unit. For 15 years he has been President and CEO of James T. Reese and Associates, with headquarters in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Dr. Richard Gasaway
Richard B. Gasaway’s emergency services career started in 1979 and he has worked for six emergency services organizations in West Virginia, Ohio, and Minnesota. Chief Gasaway holds bachelors, masters, and doctoral degrees in finance, economics, business administration and leadership. Dr. Gasaway has authored more than 80 journal articles, books and book chapters on leadership topics and he has presented more than 500 fire, rescue, EMS and safety oriented programs in 38 states, Canada, and England. Dr. Gasaway is the recipient of the British Fire Journal/W.L. Gore 2008 Research Excellence Award. He is the host of The Leader’s Toolbox on Firehouse.com – a monthly podcast radio program that addresses leadership challenges in emergency services.
