To better serve its members, Western Fire Chiefs Association (WFCA) has formed a new cooperative procurement partnership with Sourcewell, one of the largest government cooperative procurement organizations in North America.
In 2002, WFCA created the FireRescue GPO in response to a growing demand for group purchasing options within the fire service. The FireRescue GPO partnered with NPPGov to provide purchasing solutions to members across the nation. WFCA and NPPGov mutually agreed to end their relationship effective October 31, 2019.
Sourcewell (formerly NJPA) is a self-supporting government organization providing cooperative procurement solutions across the United States and Canada. Sourcewell serves approximately 55,000 public-agency members.
FireRescue GPO provides your fire department and its member’s access to publicly solicited contracts with national volume pricing from vendors who supply goods and services to the fire service. Contracts are often created through a public RFP process by a Lead Public Agency that allows members to “piggy-back” on the contract—eliminating the need to complete their own RFP process. FireRescue GPO staff and legal counsel facilitate this process and provide necessary documentation and support.
Individual firefighter discounts are also available. Access to our cooperative contracts is free and there are no purchasing obligations. Membership is available to organizations chartered to provide fire and rescue services and their members including: Career, volunteer, districts and state agencies.
In addition to saving you time and money, the program generates revenue for the fire chiefs association where the purchase was made including the IAFC, IAFC Division Association, and State Chief Associations.
“This partnership leverages the power of scale to our cooperative procurement program, providing a more effective and comprehensive purchasing experience for our members.” -Chief Jeffrey Johnson, CEO, Western Fire Chiefs Association
