The Oregon Fire Service Honor Guard is made up of members of the fire service, paid and volunteer, from the entire state. Members serve on their own time at their own expense to provide honors to the fallen, to provide assistance to their families and to post colors at major fire service events.

The Oregon Fire Service Honor Guard is a non-profit organization supported by donations and grants. Serving any Emergency Response organization in the state be it local, state, federal or private.

The Oregon Fire Service Honor Guard, in partnership with the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training, is responsible for the Oregon Fallen Firefighter’s Memorial located in Salem. The honor guard performs all ceremonies at the site.

Every year on the third Thursday in September at 1:00 PM friends family and co-workers of the fallen gather to honor their memory at the memorial.
